Szabolcs Bárdi was born in Budapest, 1975. He learnt musical instrument making at Liszt Ferenc Music Academy. While he was studying there, he was Tamás Guminar's student. He opened his own studio in Budapest in 2000. From 2002 to 2004 he was Alexander Hopkins lutemaker's assistant. He was in Ferenc KÅ‘rösi's workshop as a contributor. He is the president of Hungarian Violin Makers Society. He makes modern and baroque musical instruments inspired by Italian models.
